Job Description
The Material Controller is responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels by reviewing and analyzing relevant data. This includes providing solutions and proposals that guide agreement and contract decisions. The role also involves establishing and applying industry-proven metrics to measure and enhance supplier performance, which is crucial for driving overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive contract negotiations by analyzing and reviewing necessary materials data.
- Operationalize existing contracts and agreements.
- Monitor and control contract performance for CSP, PBH’s, GTA’s, and Adhocs.
- Generate management reports regularly or as required.
- Review and manage materials costs.
Requirements
- University degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong IT systems knowledge and skills, including advanced Excel proficiency.
- Proven experience in a material cost control role, supervising the smooth supply of materials in line with maintenance requirements and budget, ideally within the aviation or manufacturing sector.
- Experience in contract management.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Advanced understanding of materials management data and systems.
- Knowledge of aircraft components and parts.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret approved maintenance documentation such as IPC, RSPL, AMM, and SBs.
- Knowledge of lean techniques.
- Desirable knowledge of aircraft parts airworthiness certification (EASA, FAA) KCAA and customs regulations relevant to aircraft parts, along with a good understanding of IATA resolutions and industry rules.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body is an added advantage.
- 5 years of working knowledge and experience, preferably from aircraft maintenance or a technical field.
