Toll Attendant

Moja Expressway Company Limited operates the Nairobi Expressway, a significant transportation infrastructure project in Kenya, established in 2022.

This role involves collecting toll fees from motorists, providing customer assistance, and maintaining efficient traffic flow at the Nairobi Expressway toll plazas. The position requires excellent customer service skills, accuracy in cash handling, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

1. Collect toll payments using various methods including cash, credit/debit cards, and electronic payments.
2. Issue receipts and provide accurate change to drivers.
3. Verify electronic toll passes and resolve any payment discrepancies.
4. Maintain precise transaction records and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift.
5. Offer directions and basic travel information to motorists.
6. Report equipment malfunctions, traffic incidents, or suspicious activities to supervisors.
7. Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
8. Keep the toll booth area clean and organized.

1. Professional work experience in computer systems and accounting is preferred.
2. Possess basic IT skills.
3. Hold a Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or an equivalent professional qualification from a recognized and accredited institution.
4. Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, or cash handling is preferred.
5. Demonstrate basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to operate computerized toll systems and point-of-sale equipment.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
9. Capability to stand or sit for extended periods and work in diverse weather conditions.
10. Ability to perform hard work and comply with company management requirements.
11. Must be between 20-35 years old.
