Trainer – Supply Chain Management

KCA University is an institution founded in 1989, located in Nairobi, Kenya, offering education and training services. It aims to support learner development and continuously improve professional and technical training programmes.

This role involves actively facilitating training sessions in Supply Chain Management, fostering learner growth, and contributing to the continuous improvement of KCA University's professional and technical training programs. The trainer will be responsible for developing and implementing academic policies, creating learning materials, conducting research for curriculum development, and managing learning resources. Additionally, the role includes providing guidance and feedback to trainees, supervising practical work, and participating in departmental and university-wide initiatives.

1. Facilitate learning through various methods including trainings, seminars, workshops, tutorials, and other assigned tasks.
2. Participate in the development, administration, and marking of exams, practical tasks, assignments, and continuous assessment tests.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of academic policies, guiding principles, objectives, and functions in line with the Institute's vision.
4. Assist in developing learning materials, preparing schemes of work, and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.
5. Undertake research to inform the development or review of curriculum and validate learning resources.
6. Assist in the requisition and management of inventories, realia, tools, and equipment used as learning resources.
7. Provide advice, guidance, and feedback to trainees to support their professional progress and refer students to support services as appropriate.
8. Participate in the supervision and assistance of students in their practical work.
9. Contribute to and participate in departmental seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration.
10. Nurture trainees’ creativity and innovation through active involvement in contests, trade fairs, and projects.
11. Create industry linkages to support experiential learning, training excursions, and attachments.
12. Contribute to departmental, Institute, and/or University-wide meetings, working groups, or committees as requested.
13. Undertake continuous professional development and participate in staff development and other training activities required by regulators to update and enhance skills.
14. Maintain proper records of students’ examinations, assignments, practical tasks, and continuous assessment tests, ensuring timely entry into the examination records management system.
15. Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline from an accredited/recognized institution.
2. Be a Registered Trainer with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
3. Possess at least two (2) years of teaching experience at a tertiary level or three (3) years of industry-based experience.
4. Have a Certificate of an approved Trainer of Trainers course.
5. A professional qualification or affiliation with a professional association is considered an added advantage.
