This internship role involves assisting the secretariat with publicity and communication tasks to boost awareness, engagement, and participation in the Convention. Key duties include preparing and circulating promotional content, developing communication materials, supporting publicity campaigns, monitoring social media, maintaining publicity and stakeholder databases, facilitating stakeholder communication, tracking media engagements, compiling updates, and contributing creative ideas to enhance the Convention's visibility.
What You Will Do
- Support the preparation, coordination, and circulation of Convention promotional and publicity content.
- Assist in developing and distributing communication materials across appropriate platforms and stakeholder channels.
- Support the implementation of Convention publicity and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with monitoring social media platforms and tracking engagement relating to Convention campaigns.
- Update and maintain publicity, media, and stakeholder databases.
- Support stakeholder communication and follow-ups related to Convention publicity activities.
- Monitor publicity activities and maintain appropriate records of media and promotional engagements.
- Compile publicity updates and assist in preparing periodic progress reports.
- Support the coordination of other communication and publicity activities as assigned.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance Convention visibility and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
- Must hold a Diploma qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Creativity and an interest in marketing, communications, and publicity.
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication.
- Good organizational and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital communication tools.
- Photography, graphic design, or content creation skills are an added advantage.
- Must be a Graduate Engineer from a recognized institution.
- Must be members of IEK and in good standing.
- Demonstrated interest in supporting professional events and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ability to commit to the required internship period and Convention activities.
