Job Description
This Product Manager I role at Zeraki Learning is positioned at the intersection of product development, pedagogical principles, and practical classroom limitations. It is well-suited for a Product Manager with expertise in instructional design or learning sciences, capable of transforming educational theories and curriculum requirements into effective, user-friendly, and scalable product solutions. The successful candidate will operate with a degree of independence, conducting user discovery sessions with teachers and students, overseeing the learning product backlog, and delivering incremental improvements in collaboration with engineering and design teams. Support for broader strategic initiatives and cross-product alignment will be provided by a PM II or the Head of Product.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply instructional design principles such as scaffolding, practice, feedback, and mastery when making product decisions.
- Evaluate learning flows to ensure clarity of objectives, appropriate sequencing, and high-quality feedback and reinforcement.
- Collaborate with the Design team to develop cognitively appropriate and simple learning interactions.
- Ensure that learning tools enhance, rather than replace, teachers' instructional intent.
- Balance curriculum alignment with product scalability and usability considerations.
- Analyze how Zeraki Learning contributes to product stickiness, retention, cross-selling, upselling, and parent/student engagement.
- Monitor the correlation between learning engagement and renewal or usage signals.
- Partner with the Customer Experience (CX) team to identify potential churn risks or areas of confusion related to learning.
- Discover and implement small, impactful improvements that lead to sustained product usage.
- Clearly communicate the performance of learning products to product leadership.
- Establish strong working relationships with Product Designers, Engineers, and CX/Support teams.
- Conduct regular discovery sessions with teachers and students to gather insights.
- Collaborate with designers to create intuitive and clear learning interfaces.
- Clearly communicate roadmap changes and rollout updates within the team.
- Assist PM II and Product Leadership in aligning with the broader learning strategy.
- Document learning workflows and decisions to foster shared understanding.
- Proactively escalate any blockers and provide clarity when trade-offs are necessary.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in product management, instructional design, education technology, or learning experience design.
- A robust understanding of learning processes and teaching methodologies.
- Proven ability to convert pedagogical requirements into precise product specifications.
- Experience in conducting structured user discovery sessions.
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in working with product data and usage metrics.
- Highly structured, detail-oriented, and dependable in task execution.
