Software QA Engineer

The Software QA Engineer will join a global software company that builds products for enterprise IT and security teams, focusing on managing, automating, and monitoring network security policies across firewalls, cloud environments, and other network components. This position offers a strong opportunity for a junior engineer with solid coding ability and a structured QA mindset to grow into a technical QA automation role within a global engineering environment.

1. Write, execute, and maintain automated and manual test cases for UI, API, and backend functionality.
2. Contribute to and help maintain test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipeline integrations.
3. Reproduce, document, and track defects clearly using Jira.
4. Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and flag edge cases early.
5. Monitor test runs, triage failures, and update test documentation.
6. Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
7. Build familiarity with network security concepts, including firewalls and access policies.
8. Communicate progress, blockers, and testing updates clearly and proactively.
9. Continuously improve technical and QA skills through feedback, practice, and on-the-job learning.

1. Good coding skills in Java or Python.
2. 1-2 years of hands-on programming experience.
3. Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working through technical challenges.
4. A clear interest in QA and software testing.
5. Strong QA mindset, including attention to detail, structured thinking, and the ability to identify edge cases.
6. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. High motivation, coachability, and willingness to learn quickly in a technical environment.
8. Ability to work well with developers, product managers, and other team members.
9. Networking or IT background, especially exposure to firewalls or firewall concepts (Nice to have).
10. Prior exposure to QA, software testing, or test automation (Nice to have).
11. Experience testing APIs, backend systems, or web applications (Nice to have).
12. Familiarity with Jira or similar issue-tracking tools (Nice to have).
13. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or automated test runs (Nice to have).
