Procurement Officer

The Procurement Officer at Imara Mediplus Medical Centre is responsible for establishing and executing procurement systems and procedures throughout the supply chain. This includes overseeing stock control and inventory management, with a focus on generating timely reports to ensure the effective and efficient use of all purchased goods and services.

1. Guide user departments in developing accurate specifications for required goods and services.
2. Ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and timely sourcing and delivery of materials, services, and equipment to all departments.
3. Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies, including spend management, supplier development, category buying, contract management, vendor-managed inventory, and supplier rating processes.
4. Lead transparent and timely processes for supplier pre-qualification, selection, development, quotations, and tenders.
5. Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing lead times and managing demand to optimize inventory levels.
6. Guarantee the cost-effectiveness, quality, and prompt procurement and delivery of all supplies and services.
7. Manage the creation and preparation of contracts, ensuring all renewals and reviews are completed on schedule.
8. Prepare essential financial, inventory, and other relevant reports.
9. Undertake any other duties as assigned.

1. Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Possess a full professional qualification in Purchasing and Supplies, such as CIPS or an equivalent from a recognized institution.
3. Have at least 4 years of experience in both local and international procurement.
4. Be a member in good standing of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or another relevant professional body.
