Job Description
The Internal Motor Assessor will assist the Claims Manager in planning and executing effective and efficient operations within the Claims department, particularly concerning motor vehicle assessments. This involves implementing strategies for motor claims cost reduction, such as securing discounts from dealers, promoting cash in lieu settlements, and establishing relationships with part suppliers. The role also includes facilitating agreements with mid-sized panel garages across various regions, negotiating favorable part discounts, and setting up service level agreements. Key duties involve conducting vehicle assessments and re-inspections in the Nairobi region, reviewing external assessors' reports within 12 hours, and monitoring repair progress to ensure adherence to KEMRA standards. The assessor will also perform random checks on garages to maintain professionalism, assist in testing and adopting new systems for accident scene management and claims assessment, and work towards an annual cash in lieu target of KES 60 million. Additionally, the role requires reporting detected fraud cases in motor claims with proposed mitigation measures and preparing monthly cost-saving reports by the 5th of each month.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement measures to reduce motor claims costs, including securing discounts from dealers and sub-dealers, promoting cash in lieu settlements, and engaging part suppliers.
- Establish partnerships with mid-sized panel garages across all regions and open accounts with dealers, negotiating optimal part discounts and service level agreements.
- Perform vehicle assessments and re-inspections within the Nairobi region and review reports from external assessors.
- Ensure assessment reports are reviewed within 12 hours of receipt.
- Monitor the repair progress of customer vehicles to confirm adherence to KEMRA-approved standards.
- Conduct periodic checks on garages to ensure they maintain professional integrity and meet customer service standards.
- Participate in the testing and implementation of new systems for accident scene management and claims assessment/re-assessment.
- Achieve an annual target of KES 60 million through cash in lieu settlements.
- Identify and report motor claims fraud cases, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Compile and submit monthly reports detailing cost savings by the 5th of each month.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the Claims Manager relevant to the Claims Department.
