Population Services Kenya is looking for a Grants and Sub-Award Manager to join its Finance Department. This role involves overseeing financial processes, ensuring compliance, managing budgets, handling reporting, and administering sub-awards to local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community-based organizations (CBOs). The contract duration for this position is 3 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and track sub-award budgets, financial reports, payments, and project close-out procedures.
- Assist with financial due diligence, budget assessments, negotiations, and compliance oversight.
- Examine subrecipient financial reports and invoices to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.
- Offer support to subrecipients in financial management, budgeting, grants administration, and internal controls.
- Perform financial monitoring and address any compliance issues or necessary corrective actions.
- Keep precise financial records and documentation for all sub-awards.
- Aid in budget adjustments, donor reporting, processing advances and payments, and project close-outs.
- Deliver training and technical assistance to sub-grantees.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or a similar discipline.
- Possess a CPA or ACCA qualification.
- A Master’s degree is considered beneficial.
- Have a minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, grants management, financial management, or a related area.
- Prior experience with NGOs, CBOs, donor-funded initiatives, or subrecipients is advantageous.
- Demonstrate robust skills in financial management, analysis, communication, planning, and compliance.
