Job Description
This role involves ensuring client satisfaction and efficient service delivery by preparing accurate quarterly management accounts and annual audited financial statements for pension funds. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with statutory requirements and service level agreements, contributing to the overall financial health and regulatory adherence of the funds managed. Key aspects include fostering strong client relationships and maintaining operational efficiency through adherence to reporting standards and timely issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present pension funds' management accounts, budgets, cashflow statements, and annual audited financial statements to trustees, adhering to RBA and IFRS standards.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of client investments.
- Assess, compute, and pay quarterly and annual income tax and RBA levies to relevant bodies as per statutory requirements.
- Analyze and capture monthly data received from fund managers and custodians.
- Reconcile members' dealings in the pension system monthly.
- Prepare cash books and bank reconciliations monthly.
- File investment returns for guaranteed fund schemes.
- Prepare scheme financial statements and file audited accounts with the RBA.
- Reconcile guaranteed fund bank statements and process contributions and transfers.
- Analyze and process pension benefits, expenses, and service provider fees.
- Assist in training interns.
- Participate in client AGMs by preparing thoroughly and responding to member queries.
- Proactively build strong working relationships with all stakeholders to improve client satisfaction and service delivery.
- Adhere to all service level agreements and working standards to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Report system bugs and downtimes in real-time for quick resolution.
- Ensure 100% compliance with accounting reporting standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or Actuarial Science.
- Professional qualification such as CPA K or ACCA Level
- At least 3 years of experience in fund accounting or the pension industry.
- Awareness of RBA, ICPAK, and KRA requirements.
- Good knowledge of an accounting system.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in accounting principles.
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills.
