Job Description
The Technical Resource Planner is responsible for ensuring optimal staff deployment to satisfy the maintenance and operational needs of Kenya Airways. This involves strategic planning of production staff availability, coordinating leave schedules, and managing training compliance to maintain adequate staffing levels across all sections. The role also includes identifying potential resource gaps, proposing solutions, and preparing performance reports for management review. Furthermore, the planner will develop and implement resource deployment rules, utilizing mathematical modeling and statistical analysis to optimize resource plans and improve efficiencies in line with the company's operating strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan both medium- and long-term availability of production staff in collaboration with Technical Managers.
- Coordinate with sectional Managers for complementing leave plans in line with company requirements.
- Coordinate training of production staff and support compliance of mandatory and functional qualifications.
- Publish 28-day rosters a week before the start of a cycle.
- Identify possible resourcing gaps and propose mitigating actions.
- Embrace and maintain a healthy, safe, and secure working environment in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and analyze periodic performance reports (i.e., training, leave, and productivity reports) for management review.
- Conceptualize, develop, and empower Line Managers on resource deployment rules, considering business plans, strategy, and specific service level agreements.
- Transform/model these rules in the resource management system and interact with process owners and department heads for effective implementation.
- Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and statistical analysis to develop and interpret 'What-if' scenarios, recommending the impact on resources and KPIs in line with KQ operating strategy.
Requirements
- University graduate or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Five (5) years’ experience in airline operational areas.
- Experience in Resource Management and Scheduling is an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of KCAA/EASA Rules and Regulations.
- Knowledge in systematic documentation of project reports/systems and processes.
- Good working knowledge of general IT systems and specific MRO application systems.
- Good judgment and sensitivity to details.
- High level of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.

- Strong analytical ability, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
