Job Description
The Assistant Portfolio Manager provides crucial support to the Investment Manager, overseeing the day-to-day management of client investment portfolios and contributing to the overall efficiency of the Investments Department. This position is essential for ensuring that investment strategies are implemented effectively, reports are generated accurately and on time, and all activities strictly comply with regulatory standards set by the Capital Markets Authority and the Retirement Benefits Authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Investment Manager in developing and implementing asset allocation strategies for client portfolios.
- Monitor investment dealing and trading activities, and prepare portfolio performance reports against established benchmarks.
- Conduct fundamental and technical research to generate investment ideas and provide macroeconomic perspectives.
- Prepare and consolidate various reports, including investment, fund, and compliance reports, for management, clients, trustees, and regulatory bodies (CMA, RBA).
- Liaise with stockbrokers, custodians, and other third-party service providers.
- Support client communication efforts, presentations, and marketing initiatives.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; demonstrable progress toward a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Hold a professional qualification such as CISI, CIFA, or be actively pursuing the CFA program.
- Have 4 to 6 years of experience within the investment or fund management industry.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of financial modeling and valuation.
- Be proficient in using investment software and data platforms.
- Exhibit excellent communication and report writing skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain high ethical standards and impeccable integrity.
